Neighborhood House

The Farnam Neighborhood House consists of a multi-purpose community, sports and recreational facility located in New Haven. We are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and provide recreational and educational facilities to children, teenagers, adults & families with various programs used to meet our basic fields of service.

First, we nurture young children by providing various program options available Monday through Friday on a yearly basis. Our programs are designed to promote personal growth through an array of social, emotional, intellectual and physical experiences. Parents are engaged in the educational process which focuses on language development, learning habits, socialization skills and pre-kindergarten readiness.

We further provide a continuum of prevention programming for youths ages 6 to 18 years and are designed to enhance their feelings of competence and self esteem. Our programs provide basic skills for life, expand exposure to social, educational, recreational and cultural opportunities for youth to develop relationships with peers and adults, foster a sense of community and volunteerism and to develop leadership skills.

Finally, the Farnam Neighborhood House provides a comprehensive and coordinated family focused programs which serve families and, through them, their entire neighborhoods.
